Hi, I am Ed Anderson. I am a 50 year old white guy from south Georgia. My range of interests is broad and sometimes shallow. I run the gambit of being a little of a geek. As a longtime computer person, it’s kind of an occupational hazard. I went though college and my early adulthood as a war gamer (mainly role playing). I guess you could consider the Science Fiction and Comics interest to be expected. I’ve trained martial arts for ages. I started in high school and have been following it intermittently ever since. It payed off a few years ago when I finally got my black belt in karate. I had never stuck with any of the arts long enough to get that rank in the past. Finally I got tired of being the oldest middle ranking student. You have to take your motivation where you can get it. I am a fan of self development and read all the current fad books. Some of them are better than others. I hope to give a little guidance on them to my readers.
Lately I have become interested in commercial writing. It’s been an interest of mine for a while and I’ve just discovered that I write well enough for people to pay me for it. I became a writer because it had been a dream of mine for years to write for a living. (and I was unemployed) Commercial writing is my specialty because it’s working text. It doesn’t just entertain or distract. It is a part of the machinery of business. It makes money flow and things happen. I like that. In my past life I was a computer programmer. The code I wrote made computers do things and helped people make decisions. I like using logic to make things happen. That’s what I strive for in my writing.
That’s a little picture of myself. I plan on covering a lot of those interests in this blog. I hope you find them interesting and useful in your Quest as well.
