Empowering questions - Mixing reality with your goals for success.

An important tool for making personal change is empowering questions. Yesterday’s post discussed the BE-DO-HAVE idea. You must have the mental picture. If you can’t see yourself as a successful something then you can’t get there. In the Masters of The Secret blog post they talked about asking yourself what that successful person would do and then doing that. I think that throws a lot of people off. They get over whelmed with their current reality and can’t make the leap of faith. They think that they can’t possibly do what a successful whatever would do. It’s hard to see what a successful artist would do when you are working two jobs to keep food on the table and don’t have time to create.

The answer is not to separate the current reality from the goal. The proper question is not what a successful artist would do when he was successful. The empowering question is what a successful artist would do to get out of the hell he is currently in. That brings a whole new set of talents and skills to the table. That’s the answer you need. You can ask the successful artist in successful times question when you get to successful times. You need the skilled artist fighting his way to the top question to energize your skills and abilities to get out of your current situation.

So gather your forces and lay siege to your quest. You don’t have to give up your dreams to get out of your current situation. Just engage all your skills and don’t handicap yourself.

Quest On….
