Did you read anything today? Everyone does. You do and your customers do too. They may have read something from you. Did it present you in your best light? Maybe or maybe not. Was that document you sent them clear? Did it help convince them that your business was where they needed to shop? If those documents were better, would your sales be better too? I believe so.
I believe that if your customers have a better impression of you then your business will have an edge. Your written communication with them helps make up that impression. How are you currently getting that message out?
If you are lucky, you have a writing staff that makes that happen. If you are not, you put something together when you have the time. Writing becomes one more thing on your to do list. It competes with all those things that are business building projects. I know you have six or seven ‘keep the doors open’ tasks ahead of them. The business building things are in the ‘nice to do’ category. They are rarely in the ‘got to do’ category. So they get done last or not at all. Or they may get thrown off to an employee that has a full plate too.
It all comes down to time and how soon you or your employees can get to it. Now I’m sure you and your people have good writing skills. But, no matter how great your writing skills are, if you don’t have time, it doesn’t get done. Even the greatest batters don’t get home runs from setting on the bench. You need some extra help.
